Korean Fashion is Lit as Fuck

Lately, I have become a little bored of the New York/ L.A youth fashion movement. Don’t get me wrong I will love a good Supreme hoody, but I feel the movement has become stagnant- in terms of the brands they choose to wear and the risk they’re willing to take. I see very few individuals trying to push past the status quo.

So I went off in search of a new angle. My search led me to find the Korean brand KYE. Designer Kathleen Hanhee Kyeearned is the mastermind behind this visually electric streetwear brand. The design’s of the KYE tell a story filled with humour, sharp wit and iridescent colour. If you enjoy the works of Jeremy Scott I definitely recommend you check out KYE.

And as I delved deeper into Korean fashion I found VEI-8. Their summer /spring 2016 collection featured detailed oriental embroidery, on tapered 90s silhouettes and a soft colour palette. Creating a dreamy, clean minimalistic collection. In contrast, their latest summer 2016 collection, showcases brooding designs similar to Raf Simons 2001. These two collections highlight the ever-growing versatility of the brand’s designers. Check out VEI-8 past and future collections out at ODD Gallery.

So open your mind to the aesthetically pleasing world of Korean Fashion and update your wardrobe.
